The post earlier today was an accummulation of some inbuilt frustrations I have with myself. I'm not a violent person, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to smash things up now and again - particularly stuff that I don't own and don't have to clean up afterwards.

This weekend wasn't too bad - on Saturday the MIL looked after the kids while Jo and I went down to Ikea again to buy some more storage items. We picked up a couple of bookshelves and two more CD racks to the add to the four we bought over the Xmas break. Each CD rack can hold 180 CD's and we've pretty much filled the first four. Ikea even managed to deliver the shelves around 7pm on the same day which was fantastic. Usually with these places you have to spend time on the phone chasing them up and trying to pinpoint a time they will deliver.

We're also looking at getting an LCD TV for the lounge. The LG one we like is around three grand, but we hear that it's coming down in price very soon so we may just sit on it for a while. We took a look around at some stores, but everyone pretty much has the same price and every single one of them has the usual sales pitch regarding beating other prices. Yawn.

me1.jpgToday has been quite strange. First thing this morning we took Abbey to a double swimming lesson and she got some good one-on-one attention from the instructors. They have said she is very close to going up another level which is pretty awesome considering she wouldn't even put her head under water two years ago.

This afternoon I just took a nose dive with energy levels and with it went any motivation I had first thing in the morning. I ended up going to sleep for a couple of hours because I was aware that I wasn't in a particularly great mood and that never benefits anyone else. I woke up slightly refreshed and after a shower felt much better which was great because we were going next door to see J & S and their overseas visitors for a bit of a BBQ. We didn't stop too late because the twins generally go into meltdown when they are overtired.

So anyway, that's it from Captain Crankypants as Jo called me this afternoon. Just one last thing: this pic (courtesy of Dad and his slide scanner) was taken around 1975 in my Grandparents back garden. That's my lovely Mum and the kid with the bad haircut on the left is my brother. I'm a spitting image for Scarlett when she was the same age.
