Easter Weekend

| | Comments (0)

Not a bad weekend all up.

Friday we did some stuff around the house and cut the lawns, etc. In the evening we watched 300 as previously mentioned.

Saturday we had originally planned to take the kids down to the big Easter Egg hunt at Bonython Park but didn't end up going because of other stuff that had to be done that day. (I still can't believe nothing opens on long weekends - it's the only area I would say that Australia is backward!). From the accounts we've heard, it was a badly planned event and everyone said that they wouldn't do it again the following year.

Sunday started with an Easter Egg hunt around our own house. The twins really got into it this year and the looks on the faces were priceless. We were subtley bullied into inviting the MIL up for a Sunday Roast. Apart from the eggs for the kids, we don't celebrate Easter at all. We're not religious. It may seem a little hypocritical but at the end of the day chocolate eggs have nothing to do with Easter anyway - they are just the result of the ever-increasing commercial world. The MIL made a big thing of the day: new outfit, too much make-up, etc. I picked her up wearing three days of stubble, three-quarter shorts, sandals and a very old, greying AC/DC t-shirt. I'm not sure if she felt overdressed or not...

Sunday night we caught up with the next three episodes of Heroes so we're now up to Episode 18. This series gets better and better and now we can't wait for the next one.

Monday was a lazy day. The kids went down to their Nan's for the afternoon while Jo and I got stuck into clearing space for the building work that will start very soon. I can't remember if I've mentioned it here but we are converting some attic space into a sealed, insulated storage area, converting the study into a fourth bedroom (the double doorway entry needs converting to a normal single door), soundproofing the wall between the fourth bedroom and our lounge and getting our new big screen TV and sound system properly installed. Moving stuff to create space is like playing with a jigsaw.

Back to work today. What fun?!
