Land of the Living
I'm back home again after spending the last three days in Melbourne and Sydney for work. Nothing exciting though, just visiting some sites that belong to the company I work for that I haven't seen before. Some we will be responsible for from September and the others may come under our control in the future.
I hadn't been to Melbourne for a couple of years, since I left Levi's. In that last year working for them I probably went over 9-10 times for varying lengths of stay. It was a strange feeling to be driving down the freeway with the city in the background just knowing I wasn't going to the same location. If it's possible to feel "homesick" for work, that's the feeling I had.
I was up at 4am to catch the red-eye so I was half asleep by mid-afternoon, yawning my way through meetings. In the evening I caught up with AB who I used to work with and had a pretty fine steak in an expensive restaurant. I'd had a doze in the hotel before going out so I just made it through the evening.
On the Tuesday we flew out to Sydney in the morning, visited a few outlet stores in Parramatta on the way to the office and then had an easy night which involved a pint (UK pint that is) in PJ O'Briens and some decent pub food. This morning we were back out in North Ryde for another site visit. Originally my flight back to Adelaide wasn't until 8.30 at night, but I managed to transfer it to just before 1pm which meant I was home for tea with Jo and the kids.
I will post photo's from the big trip soon. I promise.
And then I will be back to having nothing to post about.

Wow. How lucky you are to be able to fly out of Melbourne, and go somewhere else. Anywhere.
yeah, but Sydney is not really going up in the world from Melbourne :-)
