She Play Guitar. She Hot.
At the risk of turning this blog from being called Wise & Otherwise to the Julia Stone Plays Guitar & Is Hot At The Same Time Appreciation Blog, I have to mention last Wednesday nights gig at Fowler's in the city was just awesome. Agreed that maybe it wasn't as intimate as the previous gig at Jive earlier in the year, where the atmosphere was emotional and intensifying to the point where each note and the pureness of A & J's voices sent shivers down your spine and created goosebumps the size of Mount Everest.
Saying that, the change of venue to a 500 capacity venue for a sold-out gig gave way to a different type of experience. The performance was still fun, the talking between songs was not so shy and bashful, and Julia still created those goosebumps during All of Me. New song Suzie, with it's slight reggae undertones, was one of the best of the night for me and they toyed with a slowed down version of Tubthumping.
The fun didn't stop as we all sang a surprise Happy Birthday to their sister Catherine on Julia's mobile phone and the last song of the night, Another Day, brought a strong party sing-a-long by the crowd, the support band and all of the road crew which was both hilarious and full of camaraderie.
All in all, another fantastic gig.

jeez you should write for The Advertiser.
